This post outlines the installation and configuration of GoldenGate 23ai Microservices on Linux.
Note that in Oracle GoldenGate 23ai, the GoldenGate Classic Architecture is deprecated and de-supported.
Download GoldenGate 23ai software for Linux and execute runInstaller after unzipping the software.

We just need to provide the location of the GoldenGate software.

Navigate to the bin directory of the GoldenGate software installation and execute the oggca.sh script.
Specify the location of the Service Manager in the Deployment Home input field.

One of the new features in GoldenGate 23ai is the Configuration Service.
The Configuration Service is a new High Availability feature which manages the configuration files of Oracle GoldenGate like parameter files, checkpoint data and credentials.
These are stored in an Oracle database (also file system) to provide high availability. These data stores can be shared between multiple GoldenGate installations to provide transparent failover capability.
In the Configuration Service properties box we provide the connection details of the database where these configuration details will stored.
The blog post by Jigar Doshi provides detailed information about the contents of the table which is created in the data store. Thanks Jigar!

Provide the username and the password for Service Manager admin user.

Provide the Deployment name and the directory location of the deployment.

Register the Service Manager as a daemon process. Execute the registerServiceManager.sh script.
